Hey. Hi. Hello.

Welcome to the introductory teaser trailer for A SHOT podcast. I’m your host and interviewer Aaron Richter. I’m a Brooklyn-based portrait and fashion photographer, who started his career in New York as a journalist and magazine editor. And lately I’ve been feeling the need for more creative connection and deep dialogue with other artists, so I’m launching this podcast as a remedy and also, if I’m being honest, as a selfish excuse to talk to all the photographers I love and admire out there. 

Every episode of this show, I ask a photographer to pick one of their images to discuss in depth. The only guideline I give is that the photo shouldn’t be “the” shot but simply “a” shot, and they’re open to interpret that however they want. My intention is to discourage the pressure of picking the absolute best, finest, career-defining work but just to focus more on something each artist might be interested in at the moment.

We have some great interviews on the way. I want to thank everyone who’s offered their work and spoken with me for their time and their trust. Episode one drops later week, and our first guest is a great one. I hope you enjoy it.
